Greetings!

So many questions about what God is doing today, tomorrow, and in the future.  How do we figure out what choices we need to make for our future?  Consider all the pre-virus plans – weddings, opening businesses, applying to colleges, buying a home….and so many more.  In the matter of one week, EVERYTHING changed, worldwide!

But God….He has not changed.  Never will change.  That is what it means when we refer to Him as immutable.  God is not a man, and He does not give a promise and then back out of it (Numbers 23:19-20).  God does not lie (1 Samuel 15:29).  He has no need to play games with us.  He always wants what is best for us (Jeremiah 29:11-14; Romans 8:29-30).

Though the world around us is changing, and today it appears that pace has increased, there is one thing that you and I can do, that is to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ!  He is my Best Friend.  In the 33 years I’ve had a relationship with Him, He has never failed to comfort, correct, encourage, and guide me.

I remember when we were moving from California to New York.  My husband and I prayed.   We trusted God was leading us.  We set into motion all that is necessary when one is relocating.  The house was on the market.  We had a buyer!  That sale fell through.  We had another buyer. That sale fell through.  We had yet another buyer!  Of course, God was moving us!  The guy at the truck rental gave a great deal on 2 moving trucks.  Our son could finish his school year, and we would arrive in NY in time for the new school year.  That sale fell through.  We went to church that evening, and our friends, who love us, told us that they had been praying the sale would fall through, and that we needed to realize it was not God’s will to move.

What do we do?

That night I came home, opened my Bible.  I knew it would not say to go back to Albany, New York.  I had to ask… “God, did I not hear you clearly?  I’ll do whatever you want.  PLEASE, speak clearly.”  But God listened and heard my prayer (Psalm 66:19).  I turned to Jeremiah 39:14. God had Jeremiah return to his home.  God spoke clearly to my heart – go back home.  Home was NY.  NY, here we come!!

The house sold, and by the time we arrived in New York, the money for our home was in our bank account.  Yes, we had to step out in faith, trust God, and leave before that sale was finalized….a story for another time!  But God!  Yes, He knew, He knows, and He will never let us down, when we seek Him, empty of our own plans, willing to do whatever He desires.

I could never come up with plans for my life that are better than His!  Moving to New York was one of those plans He set into my heart.

In the midst of the unknown, seek God.  He wants to be found by you.  He wants to strengthen you. He wants your tears.  He wants your utmost honesty about your situation. He wants you. Whether God is ushering in the last events He spoke about through His prophets, or if this is a trial run, to show us that we need Him, the question is, will you trust God, now and forevermore?  What matters is what we do next.

Will you walk in fear, or walk in faith based in the Lord Jesus Christ?  God has COVID-19 under His absolute authority.  Why not trust Him, and let Him help you with the choices you need to make today?

Warmly, Donna
